Mr Sam Kasaby, MBBCh, DO, FRCS, FRCOphth.

Mr Kasaby is Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon and Clinical Director at Southend and Basildon & Thurrock NHS Trust Hospitals. He is a Medical Director at LaserSight Essex. Educated in Cairo, his postgraduate medical training was in various highly reputed eye centres in the UK , mainly Birmingham and Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. His special interests are corneal, cataract and refractive surgery and he is recognized as one of the area’s top corneal transplant specialists. He participated in a Corneal and Refractive Surgery Fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. He has contributed several scientific publications and research on cataract and refractive surgery to peer-reviewed journals and has given numerous presentations and advanced training courses on the subject. Mr Kasaby is on the UK specialist register and has CCST (Certificate of Completion of Higher Surgical Training). He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, and a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and The United Kingdom & Ireland Society of Cataract And Refractive Surgeons.
